Heart of the Mesa Necklace
A deep, dark beating of red and black that evokes the violence with which this land was long ago created out of fire. Over the ages it has been eroded and softened by wind and water, leaving the flat expanses of mesa tops to guard the earth below.
Featuring eighteen hand-drilled beads of lava rock in tones of brick red and dark grey that were lovingly collected from the top of a mesa in New Mexico. The spaces between are capped with water-cast cups of pure silver. The focal stone is a deep red and black agate that swirls smokily, eluding definition, flanked by bright silver mesa shapes seen from above - a disorienting perspective that shifts perception. The clasp slides with a satisfying *click* into the space below a smaller matching stone.
16" sits at the collar with a comfortable weight.
